Nocturnal animals at Bath library April 11
The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust invites the public to join Brownie, the big brown bat, and her wild animal friends at the Patten Free Library on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. Brownie is an animal ambassador (live, permanently disabled and non-releasable wildlife) from the Center for Wildlife in Cape Neddick. Brownie will assist the center's staff to teach children and families about nocturnal wildlife.
Kids, families and adults will uncover the mysterious lives of the creatures that roam Maine's landscape at night. Ever wonder how bats find thousands of tiny mosquitoes in the dark? Or why a bear chooses to lumber around at night? Join Emily Calhoun, the education and outreach coordinator at the Center for Wildlife, and animal friends to discover how wildlife use their senses to expertly maneuver through our nighttime world.
Do not miss out on this free program! Registration is required due to limited seating. Please RSVP to Becky Kolak at bkolak@kennebecestuary.org or 207-442-8400. This program is free and open to all ages thanks to the generous support of Purdy Powers & Company. The Patten Free Library is located at 33 Summer Street in Bath.
