Be well and enjoy the season
I caught a rare cold this week – not surprising since it has hit a few of my office mates – but hopefully our readers haven’t gotten a cold, the flu, the dreaded COVID-19 virus, or any other fall/winter illness. My cold is on the down slide which is good because I want to enjoy the upcoming holidays.
Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce and its many volunteers have set the season in motion by putting up lights on the Memorial Library lawn, erecting the Pot Buoy Tree on Pier One, and coordinating the schedule for December events. Go to their website, www.boothbayharbor.com, to keep up with the Boothbay Lights (www.boothbayharbor.com/boothbay-lights/) schedule.
Wiscasset is holding its Early Riser sale this Saturday, Gardens Aglow Community Night is Friday, Nov. 17 (have a bite to eat at the Boothbay Fire Station beforehand) and Boothbay Harbor’s Early Bird sale is on Saturday, Nov. 18 – precursors to a busy holiday season ahead. The December calendar is chock full of events so if you need a little Christmas cheer after missing one event, there are plenty of events to participate in through the month. Many of the regular events are scheduled and there are a few “new events” listed on the Chamber’s schedule.
Also, look for the Boothbay Common to be “lit up” with new decorations provided by the Boothbay Civic Association. The weather looks good for this coming weekend for people to decorate their homes and businesses.
After a wet summer and fall, we can hopefully enjoy the holidays without many weather-related cancellations.
I hope you have a great holiday season.
