Boston Flower & Garden Show trip March 16
“Seeds of Change” is the theme for the 2013 Boston Flower & Garden Show. Returning to the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, the show will spotlight master gardeners who are embracing new plants, methods and materials to increase the beauty and bounty of their gardens and outdoor spaces.
Enjoy lectures, demonstrations and shopping all set against the beautiful backdrop of more than 25 garden displays by cutting-edge landscape professionals and area nurseries. The changing landscape of gardening has never been so inviting. Show highlights include: A Living Catalog with gardens featuring new plants; Learn about the Birds & the Bees with experts to get you started in the hobbies of raising chickens and beekeeping; From Garden to Gourmet with local chefs teaching how to grow, use and preserve produce and herbs year round.
Take in a demonstration on the art of flower arrangement; discover how trendy and crucial houseplants can be; experience a show and tell program of how to start thing up in the spring; taste contemporary recipes for pickling everything from apples to zucchini.
The bus will pick up in Rockport, Waldoboro, Damariscotta, Wiscasset and Bath. The cost of the trip, including admission to the Flower Show, is $80 for online registrations received by February 15 and $85 for all other registrations. There are no refunds after February 22.
