Bye, bye snow
Yes, April sometimes kicks a snowstorm our way, and March has been having its wintry winds. But the more bare ground that appears on the Midcoast, the more it feels like spring.
Good riddance to another winter, and hello to the warmer months on the horizon with, this year, some renewed hope for events. Good call, Wiscasset, on nodding the July 4 fireworks. With COVID-19 vaccinations building and people getting good at how to be safe around one another, an outdoor spectacle with ample viewing space sounds reasonable this year, and welcome.
So, too, has the Garden Club of Wiscasset thought well to bring back its annual plant sale – this time keeping it all outdoors.
Caution still belongs throughout the country, from masks to social distancing and avoiding super spreaders; but it is nice to think that 2021 may be a stepping stone back to times when events, trips and holiday traditions were not an if.
