Catch the Gardens on TV
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is the focus of a half-hour segment of “Mature Lifestyles,” a program produced by Spectrum Generations on Time Warner Cable, Channel 9 in this region. The program will be shown multiple times throughout July: at 6 p.m. on Mondays; 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursdays; 6:30 p.m. Fridays; and 9:30 a.m. Sundays.
This colorful segment is hosted by a veteran of the “Mature Lifestyles” show, the Gardens’ own Director of Philanthropy, Dorothy Freeman. During the filming, she interviewed Gardens President Susan Russell and Executive Director Bill Cullina. Gardens volunteer Mary Chase of Damariscotta Mills makes a special appearance on one of the Gardens’ new scooters, accompanied by her granddaughter, Jaiya Valentín-Chase.
Freeman conducted the interviews for the program in the Lerner Garden of the Five Senses and the Haney Hillside Garden. Not only is the content informative and intriguing; the settings are stunning. Because it was a beautiful day with many visitors, part of the show’s attraction is seeing how people of all ages are enjoying their time at the Gardens.
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is located off Barters island Road in Boothbay. For more information, call 207-633-4333, ext. 101, or visit www.Mainegardens.org.
