Cheers & Jeers
I haven’t used this headline/type of column since August of 2022. Yes, I have praised various happenings, people and groups since then – and I have cursed the weather and governments’ decisions – but I haven’t gone through the past week’s news to offer my Cheers and Jeers for a long while.
Cheers
~ To Boothbay Special Olympics resuming the Leprechaun Leap and raising money for expenses and equipment. The school no longer subsidizes the program so Friday’s donations will help them continue the program.
~ To Edgecomb planners for holding fun 250th anniversary events for its residents and friends.
~ To Peter and Nancy Gilchrist for over 30 years of running the Boothbay Region High School math team and accomplishing top honors at many meets.
Jeers
~ I’m going back to the weather on this one – I know it is March, which is a fickle weather month, but after several days of tolerable weather, seeing snow in the forecast for Saturday doesn’t sit well with me (you?).
Have a good week!
