Coastal Maine Botanical Garden donates tree to YMCA
The Boothbay Region YMCA was lucky enough to receive a lovely cherry tree donation from Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.
The tree is an Okame Cherry, shown here with Aquatics Director Shane Pennington. It has big, beautiful double blossoms when it blooms in the spring.
It was delivered June 28 and CMBG staff helped the Y plant it. The YMCA wishes to thank the Gardens' Rodney Eason, the CMBG staff for doing the dirty work in the mud and rain, and Bruce Riddell, who has continued to volunteer time for the Y helping with design choices, revising his landscape design for every donation, and even helping to procure and deliver two more trees for the front of the gym during this busiest time of his year.
