We don't always look forward to winter ending. Why? Because that's when the clock seems to move faster and the deadline draws near to get our special publications – Home and Landscapes, Summertime, Windjammer Days and Dining Guide – completed.

However, it is the best time to work on them – writing, securing advertising, editing and laying out the pages – and a lot of credit for completing the supplements goes to our fine paginators, Steve Edwards and Gary Dow. The editorial and advertising staffs – as well as Steve and Gary – don't always have a lot of time to concentrate on the special publications as we are working weekly on the newspaper and websites. But somehow, by mid-June, they magically appear in the newspaper or on the newsstands.

Thank you to all the businesses who advertised in the publications. We couldn't do them without you. Thank you to the advertising, editorial and production staffs for the work you put into them. For the second straight year, we were short on editorial help due to the pandemic, but "my crew" came through. And thank you to those who contributed copy, photos and more to help fill the pages in the publications.

We hope our readers are enjoying reading the fine articles and are supporting the local businesses who spent money to advertise.

Now, after taking a relaxing breath, we move on to the busy summer.
