A Lincoln County grand jury indicted Matthew Plummer, 36, of Wiscasset May 15, charging him in connection with an eight-hour police standoff Dec. 14-15, 2018 at his apartment on Heritage Lane.

According to Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, Plummer allegedly strangled a woman and threatened her with a knife; she fled his apartment and spoke to police on scene; due to Plummer’s background, which includes incidents of domestic violence, police evacuated the building and brought in tactical and negotiation teams: eight hours later, Plummer fled his apartment after tear gas was deployed. He remained combative with police; a State Police K-9 brought him down. He was treated for a dog bite and taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
