How is your summer going?
We made it through the hottest June on record in Maine and now we're halfway through July. There is still plenty of time to enjoy the season many of us look forward to the rest of the year before thinking about getting the kids ready for school, before hauling out the rakes, and before closing up the summer home.
Have you dined at some of our great restaurants? Have you taken a swim in a lake or the ocean? Played games with the kids? Taken a boat ride to see our beautiful coastline? Eaten a lobster? Hiked a land trust preserve? Visited the refurbished Burnt Island Light? Seen a show at the Opera House? Gone to the "new and improved" Boothbay Railway Village Museum?
There are many more things to do in the Midcoast and summer is the time to enjoy what is offered. There are some pesky things like work, rain, bugs, finances, etc. that sometimes stymie well-laid plans, but do persevere when you can and enjoy the region.
Perhaps you can read the articles and calendar of events in this issue and pick something to enjoy. The next month or so is when a lot is happening so, if you haven't done a lot this summer, get moving and have some fun!
