It’s that time of year
As “The Christmas Waltz” goes, it’s that time of year. CMBG has one program and one event coming up before the end of the year, and both are inspired by the Christmas season. In addition, free Storytimes in the Bosarge Family Education Center at 10 a.m. every Monday, except when schools are closed, are a wonderful way for children to stay in touch with the Gardens. The gates are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily, except on Christmas, and Gardens admission is free.
Christmas Market December 14
It’s now officially a tradition, and it gets better each year. On Saturday, Dec. 14, the Gardens’ Christmas Market will return with nearly two dozen vendors offering a wide variety of New England-made, top-quality products in both the Visitor and Education centers. Authors will be on hand for signings, too. The hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served. For a list of vendors and more information, see the Gardens’ website, www.mainegardens.org, or call 207-633-4333, ext. 101.
Make stunning holiday décor
Eggnog, cookies, and good company will add to the fun of learning how to make stunning decorations using a variety of natural greens with horticulturist and floral designer Diane Walden. A few spaces remain open in her “advanced” workshop on Saturday, December 7, from 1-4 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity of creating Williamsburg-style wreaths or table arrangements, for which they should bring favorite bowls or vases from home. Prices are $75 for members and $85 for nonmembers and include all other materials. Sign up at www.mainegardens.org, or call 207-633-4333, ext. 101.
