Keeping patients safe during COVID-19
Lincoln County Dental Inc., is establishing our office protocol and purchasing necessary equipment and supplies in anticipation of opening our office and welcoming patients. We adhere to the highest standard of care. Safety and infection prevention are, and have always been, of paramount importance to us.
Lincoln County Dental Inc. is pleased to share some of the specialized items we have purchased and protocol we will be implementing. As we are closer to delivering patient care, we will provide detailed information regarding office procedures for our patients.
Our safety criteria meet or exceed accepted standards and utilize best practice protocol. We follow applicable state and federal laws and adhere to OSHA and CDC requirements. All persons in our office will be required to wear a mask at all times, except patients who are actively receiving dental treatment. Our staff will be wearing the personal protective equipment (PPE) which is most appropriate for the task that they are performing. This may include, surgical masks, face shields, gloves, lab coats, safety glasses, etc. As always, our staff will practice strict sterilization and disinfection procedures.
We are installing specialized VidaShield UV-C lights in the treatment rooms which provide fast, continuous air purification through the use of UV-C lights with specialized fans and filters. We are grateful to the generosity of the United Way of Mid Coast Maine to support this important purchase. Additionally, there will be HEPA air filtration units present in these areas. These precautions will significantly aid in the reduction of airborne particles and keep patients safe.
Lincoln County Dental will strategically schedule our patients to optimize the timing of the appointments and minimize the number of patients arriving or departing at the same time. Our patients will receive communication in advance of their appointments that will include important information regarding their visit as well as health screening questions. These questions will be repeated upon arrival. We will be implementing temperature checks for both staff and patients upon entry. Hand sanitizer will be available for patient and staff use. The number of chairs in our reception area has been limited to ensure that there is adequate physical distance (at least six feet) between the seats. We respectfully request that, unless absolutely necessary, patients arrive at their appointment unaccompanied to minimize the number of individuals in the waiting room. Additionally, we have eliminated items that would be frequently touched and difficult to disinfect such as magazines.
We look forward to providing more detailed information regarding our opening soon.
