LincolnHealth reported 55 new COVID-19 cases from 564 tests for the week of Nov. 1. The 9.8% positivity rate is the highest this year with the most cases since mid-September. Thirteen cases were breakthrough cases, involving people who have been vaccinated.

Director of Communications John Martins said LincolnHealth is now focusing on in-school clinics for children ages 5-11 and booster shots for those 18 and older at Watson Health Center; 83 vaccines were administered Nov. 9 at schools in the Boothbay region. LincolnHealth was planning to have clinics in Wiscasset schools before they went to fully remote learning through Nov. 12.

“It’s important for parents to understand the schools are sharing all the information about their clinics,” said Martins. “If parents have questions, they should reach out to the school.”

Martins said there will be a clinic for ages 5-11 Nov. 13 by appointment only at Watson Health Center. To make an appointment, call 633-1934.

Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention has announced the state’s first flu case of the year. Martins said LincolnHealth recommends everyone get their flu shot. He said the flu and COVID-19 vaccines can be taken simultaneously.
