The Garden Club of Wiscasset held its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 7 at The First Congregational Church of Wiscasset. The horticultural talk on maintaining cut flowers was given by club member and flower design mentor, Charlotte Henry.
Following the flower talk, the club listened to a talk on how to stay healthier by Edie Johnston and her son, Geoffrey, of Maine Medicinals. They spoke specifically about using elderberries and other antioxidant-rich native plants for overall system support. Tea followed the program.
The next meeting of the club will be on Thursday, April 4 and our speaker will be Cyndy Bush, National Garden Clubs master floral judge whose topic is “Welcome to spring.” The garden club welcomes guests to join us at our monthly meetings.
