Guido Anthony Hernandez, 27, of Augusta, was found guilty last month of one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor and one count of Unlawful Sexual Touching for incidents in 2016. According to Lincoln County court records and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, he was sentenced in 2018 to jail for 364 days on the first charge, all but 60 days suspended, and probation of five months. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail on the second charge,  all suspended, with one year probation.

A second charge of Sexual Abuse of a Minor was deferred in 2018.

The sentences were stayed until early November 2018.

Social media played an important role in Hernandez’s capture, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office’s Lt. Michael Murphy. LCSO contacted Augusta Police Department, who placed Hernandez’s photo on the department’s Facebook page. They received information on his location and arrested him within hours.
