Romantic dramedy ‘Now And Then’ opening March 30
The romantic comedy/drama “Now and Then” by playwright Sean Grennan is coming to The Waldo Theatre for four performances beginning March 30.
The latest in a recent resurgence of fully-staged community theater productions at The Waldo, “Now and Then” promises to be a fun, funny and bittersweet look at love, the decisions we all face in life, and the impact of the decisions on those who make them with us. The entire production takes place in Mulligan’s, a neighborhood Irish bar, fancifully created on the Waldo stage.
“There’s something that feels remarkably familiar about the relationships in this play,” said George Bates, “Now and Then” producer. “In some ways, partners know and understand each other intimately over time, yet, in other ways, seemingly don’t know or understand each other at all. Sometime love endures, and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s largely about the choices we make along the way.”
“Now and Then” performances include two matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday April 7, and two evening performances r 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6. The play is directed by Peter Henderson of Tenant’s Harbor.
“We hope everyone who has a chance will come see ‘Now and Then’,” said Susan Hodder, The Waldo’s executive director. “It’s the first of several theatrical productions we’ll be staging at The Waldo this year. We promise you a laugh, and perhaps a tear, and a few hours of the magic of live theatre at Mulligan’s Bar.”
Adult tickets are available for $15 in advance, $20 the day of the event. Youth tickets (17 and under) are available for $10. Purchase at at thewaldotheatre.org/nowandthen. If this show is not sold out, tickets are available at the box office starting at 1:30 pm.
