Suspicious fire leads to burglar bust
An investigation into a recent structure fire at a trailer park in Wiscasset determined that two suspects had broken into the properties. Wiscasset Police Officer Donald Smith and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Detectives identified the pair as Ronald E. Williams Jr., 41, and Tylor Miller, 18, both of Wiscasset.
Williams was arrested during the early morning hours of February 12 and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail where he is awaiting his court appearance. He is charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, refusal to submit to arrest or detention and violation of conditions of release
Miller was arrested mid-day on February 13 and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail where he was booked and released on two counts of burglary and two counts of theft.
Wiscasset Police Officer Geoffrey Davis responded with the Wiscasset Fire Department to the structure fire at the Mountain View Trailer Park located at 285 Birch Point Road, Lot #21.
During the initial investigation it was decided to contact the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office as the fire was suspicious in nature. A shed next to the trailer had caught fire.
The fire is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office and arson has not been ruled out.
During this fire investigation it was discovered that the two male occupants of the trailer, Williams and Miller, had been involved in two burglaries in the area that evening. They had stolen copper and other metals from the two locations.
