Thrift Store opening and Tuesday Lunch resumes
Spring is back and that means the Edgecomb Community Church is gearing up again for their Thrift Store opening on Tuesday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Several new items have been brought in to sell to those bargain hunters out there. The outside donation bin has also been unlocked so anyone wishing to donate may drop things off or bring them during the Thrift Store’s hours, which are the same as last year: Tuesdays 9-2 and Saturdays 9-1. Proceeds help our neighbors in need as well as other local charitable organizations.
Also beginning again on Tuesday, April 2, is the Tuesday Lunch program where a free meal is provided to those attending at noon. On the first and third Tuesdays of each month, Chef Marjorie DiVece prepares a nutritious lunch for roughly 30-35 guests. Monetary donations are accepted, but not required. On April 2, macaroni and cheese, peas, salad, bread, and carrot cake will be served. Tuesday, April 16, Marjorie will prepare homemade tomato soup, cheese bread, salad, and hot fudge pudding cake.
All are welcome and this is a great outreach for people to meet friends and neighbors while meeting new folks.
