Parents can get their young children a flu shot and catch them up on recommended vaccinations at a special pediatric vaccine clinic at the Watson Health Center on the Miles Campus from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21. You do not need to be a Lincoln Medical Partners patient to participate but you do need to call 563-4350 to make an appointment. All insurances except TriCare are accepted.

In other news, drive-up flu clinics continue on the weekends during October and are open to anyone over age 7. Clinics are held at the Respiratory Care Clinic in the Webster Van Winkle building on the Miles Campus in Damariscotta and in the Family Care Center at 19 St. Andrews Lane in Boothbay. Hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays at each location.

It would be helpful if patients wear a short-sleeved shirt for easier access. Please bring your insurance card.

The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone six months of age or older.
