Free childbirth classes return to LincolnHealth
LincolnHealth’s Miles Maternity is pleased to announce its childbirth classes have returned after a hiatus due to COVID-19. Expectant moms and their delivery coaches participate in two, three-hour sessions that cover many aspects of the birthing experience. Our experienced nurses will cover a variety of topics, including:
- Breathing and relaxation techniques
- Labor and delivery positions
- Infant feeding
- Water birth and Cesarean birth
“Coaches can be a partner, family member or friend,’’ said Angela Russ, RN, Manager of OB services at LincolnHealth. “The comfort of a friendly face and the support of a partner or loved one smooths out the normal bumps that come with labor and delivery while creating some moments that last forever.”
The next session will be held May 13 and 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the OB unit waiting room (3rd floor) on the Miles campus. Participants will need to complete a health screening upon facility entry and masking will be required. Classes are also set for June 20 and 29, as well as July 19 and 27 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Dates and times for sessions beyond July have yet to be determined. For more information, please call 563-4536 or register at https://lhchildbirth.coursestorm.com/
LincolnHealth Miles Maternity also offers classes for siblings by request and prenatal education for its patients. Call 563-4536 for details.
