Peace Gallery announces mindful living series
The Peace Gallery, located on Main Street in Damariscotta, announced an upcoming three-part series focusing on wellness and well-being. The series is facilitated by certified mindfulness teacher and facilitator, Jane Bjerklie-Barry of New Harbor.
On three consecutive Monday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 beginning on July 11, (July 18, 25) the 2-hour workshops will begin with establishing a baseline of mindful living through dialogue and short exercises. In week two, participants move outdoors for slow-moving exercises, walking and reflection. The third week provides an opportunity to explore mind creativity and ways in which to bring mindful and contemplative methods into daily life. Finally, participants are invited to an optional culmination evening event to share, interact, and further explore new friendships on Aug. 2.
“Maine-Ful Living” is a three-part series with each workshop designed as a building block, with workshops capped at 12 participants. However, each 2-hour workshop can be taken individually (space permitted) for those who are solely focused on a particular area. The full 3-part series is $110 per person; individual workshops are $40 per person. A percentage of program proceeds will support The Peace Gallery Veterans Scholarship Fund and the town of Bristol Veterans Memorial Riverwalk Project. There are three full scholarships available for veterans.
