Week 26
We are halfway through another year’s weekly editions, as the “Issue 26” on the front page denotes. I don’t take too much stock of annual milestones, as in this line of work and maybe yours, we look mostly forward.
But this print week or around it always feels a little like the halfway mark of a school year, so much thankfully done, and so much, importantly, still to go. Conversely, this time is most of our towns’ fresh starts, with newly approved budgets and newly elected or re-elected officials. Alna remains ahead of the curve, already about a third through its fiscal year that starts in February and with elections back in March. May all the towns have or continue to have a year of good work including working with one another on mutual goals.
Week’s positive parting thought: One more mid-year marker for readers and us, who are also readers, is an insert this week: Dining Guide, which you can also look for soon on wiscassetnewspaper.com and boothbayregister.com, is the last of our annual guides we work on all year and finish near their press time, in part so the information on events and more will be as up to date as possible. This year’s is a fun read and as always is thanks to teamwork, including the stellar as always graphic design by our talented Steve Edwards; incredible advertising staffers Sarah Morley and Kathy Frizzell for their inspiring efforts; and our advertisers, businesses helping support the region, including us.
Enjoy the read in hand, or on a device, same as all the guides.
