An island and a summer
We welcomed running our news contributor Phil Di Vece’s commentary this week on White’s Island and access to the island, since Di Vece, a longtime local and an author of books on Wiscasset, knows a lot on this topic and offers his practical perspective.
Plus, as we have noted before, anything Di Vece writes is worth reading.
We hope it adds to the conversation on this island many love.
Growing up in Bath, I felt similarly about nearby Popham Beach and the fort, and Reid State Park. Whether some of your favorite outdoor destinations are these, or White’s Island or some other lovely Midcoast spot, Wiscasset’s ongoing issue is relatable.
Week’s positive parting thought: Better than my attempting the math, according to https://days.to/until/summer, as of Thursday, July 14, summer still has 70 days to go. How do you hope to spend your free time in the 10 weeks left of it? You may find inspiration with the 2022 installments of the “Man about Wiscasset” blog Frank Barnako graces our website with. As with a Di Vece piece, anything by Barnako is worth a read.
