Pemaquid Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution
A busy 2023 so far….here are some highlights.
Valerie Trentin of Newcastle donated her family’s American Eagle Plaque to the American Legion Post in Boothbay. (see photo)
The Chapter created and donated beautiful centerpieces for the tables at the spring State DAR Meeting in Freeport attended by Alexis Miller (Paging), Barbara Belknap, Audrey Miller, Nancy Chick and associate member Tammy Cruickshank. (see two photos)
In addition to their regular May meeting, the Pemaquid Chapter was represented by Regent Barbara Belknap and Treasurer Audrey Miller at:
The 125th Anniversary of the Eunice Farnsworth and Ruth Heald Cragin Chapter was held at the Museum and Home of Senator Margaret Chase Smith in Skowhegan.
On May 21 at the grave marking ceremony of Revolutionary War Soldier and American Patriot Jacob Frost in Norway.
On June 17 Barbara and Audrey represented the Pemaquid Chapter at the 125th Anniversary celebration of the Lady Knox Chapter, and the grave marking ceremony for DAR Real Daughter Eliza Perry Thomas in Rockland.
June 27 to July 2 Audrey Miller and Nancy Chick represented the Chapter at the 123rd Continental Congress in Washington, D.C. Miller is the DAR Maine State Curator for the Maine Room in the DAR Museum and hosted an open house during the Congress. (see photo of Maine Room)
July 22 the Chapter was represented by Barbara and Audrey during General Henry Knox Day in Thomaston. (see photo)
Aug. 9, the regular chapter meeting was held at the American Legion Hall in Boothbay with the theme of Lighthouses in Lincoln County and Beyond to honor the upcoming 250th anniversary of our country in 2026.
