Chances are
As Maine forecasts never (read, “often”) need tweaking or fully changing in the days and hours leading up to an event, I am moderately comfortable at press time Tuesday, Saturday night’s rain should mostly hold off until after Wiscasset’s tree-lighting on the common, and Sunday night’s possible snow will either hold off until after Woolwich’s, at the meeting house, or be just approaching with the first flakes, thereby adding to the holiday mood.
If we get “wind” of any schedule changes or cancellations of any holiday events, we fortunately have wiscassetnewspaper.com, boothbayregister.com and their Facebook pages to help spread the word.
In the meantime, as we have been reporting, Santa Claus has been getting around our regions already and is anticipated at the above, and other, holiday events. Between him and all the cocoa, seasonal song and other traditions, our towns and their businesses, schools and groups know how to party like it’s 2023. No year and no downtown or anything else in any town or life will get to perfect, but this time of year, we can appreciate the holiday seasons we once knew, and each new one, different, but still a reason to gather and to celebrate.
Week’s positive parting thought: Hope the weather is merry enough for your plans this holiday season.
