Auditions scheduled for ‘Now and Then’
The Waldo Theatre has announced audition dates for the play “Now and Then,” which will be staged at The Waldo beginning in March. Written by Sean Grennan, “Now and Then” is a heartfelt romantic comedy about the costs of the choices we make, and their impact on the people who make them with us.
An open casting call for this Community Theatre play will be held on Sunday, Jan. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m., and Monday, Jan. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. Members of the local community—both experienced and inexperienced—are invited to audition for roles including two men (one age 55+/one age 20 to 45) and two women (one age 55+/one age 20 to 45). The performances are currently scheduled for March 30, and April 5, 6 and 7.
The play will be directed by Peter Henderson of Tenants Harbor who recently appeared on The Waldo stage as the title character Homer in Karmo Sanders’ comedy “Homer Bound.”
“I love this story, and the fact that the entire play occurs in a neighborhood bar makes it that much more fun,” said Henderson.
“We believe this cleverly written play will be very appealing to our local audience,” said Susan Hodder, The Waldo’s executive director. “It’s witty, touching, and gives us a ‘what if?’ look at the life journeys we all take.”
