Joan Stover, 69, of Waldoboro passed away on Feb. 13, 2024 after a prolonged illness. 

Joan spent her early years on Louds Island and would often proudly state that she was an "island girl.”

She was predeceased by two siblings and her husband, Harold Stover. She is survived by three siblings, her daughter Karen Hyson; her son Neal Hyson and his partner Katie Cray; her grandchildren Matthew Hyson, Justin Hyson, Alyssa Hyson and Devon Colby; and her aunt and uncle, Linda and Frankie Elwell.

The family would like to express appreciation to Tiffany York, Maine Health Hospice and the Sussman House for supporting Joan throughout her time of need.

There will be no services per Joan's wishes. If you wish to remember her, please consider donating to a veterans organization of your choosing.
