Morris Farm, Chewonki hold forum on food security
The Morris Farm and Chewonki are pleased to present "Local Food, Local Hunger: A Community Forum on Food Security in Lincoln County" this Saturday, March 7. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will be held at the Chewonki Center for Environmental Education, 485 Chewonki Neck Road in Wiscasset.
The forum will serve to engage community members in a constructive dialogue focusing on securing healthy food for all residents, with presentations from various community organizations including; University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s Harvest for Hunger, Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, Veggies for All, Healthy Lincoln County, Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission, FARMS, Feed Our Scholars, Access Health, Boothbay Region Community Resources, and Good Food Council of Lewiston/Auburn. The keynote address will be given by Mark Winne, a community food activist, writer, and trainer, and the author of “Closing the Food Gap: Resetting the Table in the Land of Plenty.”
