Winter
With uncertain weather moving by us, I wasn't sure what to expect for the first of winter.
So, guessing it may not snow, I dug around the files for something winterish. That's all it took; it snowed. But I went with it anyway.
The image I chose is a scene from a nifty little cove on the back side of Cozy Harbor.
Originally I titled the photo “Roscoe's Boathouse”, because I thought it belonged to Roscoe Rand of Southport. Actually, it lives on a parcel owned by the Helmings, at the very end of Cozy Harbor Road, once a piece of the Marr family territory.
Its not unusual for me to be imprecise. One time, in a frenzy to prepare an exhibition, I mislabeled a nighttime photograph of Pont Neuf in Paris, calling it the Barter's Island swing bridge.
A lovely, elderly French woman pointed out the oversight. She gracefully whispering to me, “Mr. Mitchell, I have lived my entire life in Paris, and I have never crossed the Barter's Island swing bridge.”
I think I did pretty well with today's photo – it is winter.
