Snowlion Repertory Company news
Snowlion Repertory Company announces the world premeire of "Faust in the Anthropocene" will be at The Hill Arts (formerly St. Lawrence Arts) at 76 Congress St., Portland. Opening April 4, it will run through April 13.
This groundbreaking and startlingly original new work features Wisdom Tales from the Land of Snows woven together with familiar characters from both the Faust legend and our own troubled times. Original music by Aaron Robinson (of Alna) will be heard throughout the show, including the new rock anthem Kali Yuga (Dark Age).
Billionaire Faust grapples with his perpetual dissatisfaction until the seductive Mara offers him unlimited power - for a price. But Faust meets his greatest challenge in the character of Zee, an eco-activist bent on upending his world while trying to save hers.
Featuring characters such as the playful sage Shabkar, the obsequious Tenders of the Government, the embodiments of Lust, Craving, Dissatisfaction, and Ego, and even Helen and Paris (members of the band A Thousand Ships), "Faust in the Anthropocene" explores mankind's contemporary crises and offers a vision of hope for those daring to look within.

Summer 2025 will bring a brand new Boothbay Summer Theater production, "RED" by John Logan. Directed by Margit Ahlin the show run is June 27 through July 6.
In "RED," abstract expressionist artist Mark Rothko (portrayed by Al D'Andrea) matches wits with his 'modern' apprentice Ken (portrayed by Tristan Rolfe), leading to a startling and explosive exploration of the meaning of art, emotion, and authenticity in a commercialized world.
Rothko's most famous set of paintings, and whether they make it into the world or not, is the subject of this Tony-winner for best play.
The location will be announced soon, but know that another great professional production is coming your way next summer from BOOST! For more information visit https://boothbaysummertheater.com/
