Armed with a bachelor's degree in vocal music performance from Elon University, Mrs. Drury discovered her true calling in education. Her professional growth reflects an unwavering dedication to musical excellence. By completing her teaching certification through George Mason University and the University of Virginia, she equipped herself with a comprehensive understanding of advanced musical pedagogical techniques.

Her expertise spans multiple innovative teaching methodologies, including Orff Schulwerk, Feierabend First Steps in Music, Conversational Solfège, and the Kodály method. These approaches allow her to create rich, engaging musical experiences that extend far beyond traditional instruction.

As the Elementary General Music Teacher and Chorus Director at Wiscasset Elementary School, Mrs. Drury views music as a transformative journey of joy and connection. "My greatest hope," she lovingly shares, "is to help students discover a lifelong passion for music." Her teaching philosophy transcends technical skills, focusing on building teamwork, fostering social connections, and creating cross-generational understanding through the universal language of music.

Her commitment radiates beyond classroom walls. Regular performances at local retirement communities and senior centers showcase her belief in music's power to bridge generations. Annual concerts provide her students with invaluable opportunities to explore their talents, build confidence, and experience the magic of collective musical expression.

After 25 years of dedicated service, Mrs. Drury has crafted more than musical lessons, she has created lasting, meaningful experiences that will resonate with her students throughout their lives. Her deep gratitude for the Administration, School Committee and the Wiscasset community coupled with her profound dedication, shine through every note and melody.

Outside her professional life, Mrs. Drury continues to nurture her creative spirit through reading, cooking, gardening, and cherishing moments with her family and beloved cats, embodying the same passion and love she brings to her musical teachings.
