The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 325 calls for service for the period of Jan. 28 to Feb. 4. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 1,502 calls for service.
Summonses
William J. Morrison, Jr., 64, of New Harbor was issued a summons Jan. 29 for Assault, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy Kasey Doyle.
Aidan R. Bryant, 18, of Walpole was issued a summons Jan. 30 for Motor Vehicle Speeding: 30+ MPH over speed limit, on US Route 1, Nobleboro, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
Arrests
Tina M. Hatch, 50, of Newcastle was arrested Jan. 28 for Violating a Protective Order and Violating Conditions of Release, on Jones Woods Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Ethan Burns.
Ryan Klekotta, 42, of Troy was arrested Jan. 29 on a Penobscot County warrant for Failure to Appear on an Operating after Suspension charge, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
James R. Clark, Jr., 48, of Damariscotta was arrested Feb. 2 for Operating after Habitual Offender Revocation – Prior OUI; Violating Condition of Release; and Operating under the Influence – 1 prior, on Main Street, Damariscotta, by Deputy Joseph Booth.
Accidents
On Jan. 28, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Elizabeth A. Peters, 63, of Bristol. Ms. Peters was operating her 2020 Ford Escape northbound when a deer came out from the left and ran in front of her vehicle and was struck, causing front passenger corner damage to her vehicle. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 29, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson involving Timothy L. Benner, 57, of Waldoboro. Mr. Benner was operating his 2005 Subaru Legacy southbound when he failed to stop at the stop sign with the intersection of Bunker Hill Road, traveling through the intersection, off the roadway and impacting an embankment. As a result, his vehicle suffered disabling damage. The road conditions were slick due to snow at the time of the accident, however, it appeared he was traveling too fast for the road conditions. Deputy Nathaniel Aronson was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 29, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Emmett L. Hoins, 25, of South Bristol. Mr. Hoins was operating his 2000 Chevrolet Blazer southbound, uphill in slushy road conditions. Mr. Hoins stated he lost traction and struck the guardrail, causing damage to his vehicle, but no damage to the guardrail. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 29, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Nolan P. Kirley, 32, of Brunswick. Mr. Kirley was operating his 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan northbound when his vehicle went off the roadway on the right and struck a utility pole. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 29, an accident occurred on Hendricks Hill Road in Southport involving Bethany J. Trussell, 42, of Jefferson. Ms. Trussell was operating her 2017 Toyota Camry eastbound, traveling downhill, around a curve, in slushy road conditions, when she lost traction and struck a guardrail. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 31, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Bremen involving Kaden M. Perce, 22, of Newcastle. Mr. Perce was traveling southbound and was driving too fast for the road conditions (snow), when he went off the roadway and collided with a mailbox. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.
On Feb. 1, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving David W. Brewer, 56, of Boothbay and Stephen T. Barton, 34, of Woolwich. Mr. Brewer was operating his 2024 Int’l Harvester/Navistar northbound and Mr. Barton was traveling in the same direction, behind Brewer’s vehicle in his 2023 Ford Mustang. Mr. Barton was following Brewer’s vehicle too closely and tried braking, but rear-ended Brewer’s vehicle due to the slippery road conditions. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.
On Feb. 2, an accident occurred on Bayview Road in Nobleboro involving Gabriel M. Hanley, 17, of Newcastle. Mr. Hanley was operating his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado westbound in snowy conditions. Mr. Hanley was traveling too fast for the road conditions and as a result, he slid on the ice and collided with a guardrail on the right side. His vehicle then bounced off the guardrail and went off the road on the left, before entering a ditch and striking a tree, causing damage to the front, driver’s side mirror and front passenger side tire. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
