Join MIT alumni, Seth & Geoff Chatterton, at the Library on Wednesday, September 25, 4:00 p.m. for an in-depth talk about the state of AI.

This talk will cover the basics: What is AI?  How does it work?  As well as approachable explanations and demonstrations of current AI applications like text, image, video, and audio generation, as well as data analysis and code generation. 

Learn about a simulation tool that could be used to predict the shifts in workforce over the next few years as AI tools are more widely adopted.  Plus, as a growing issue in media literacy, this lecture will address how to spot fake images and voices.

Seth Chatterton holds a Masters in Business Analytics from the MIT Sloan School of Management as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Dartmouth College and a BA in Physics, Math, and Computer Science from Bowdoin College. His capstone project ‘The Future of Work’ modeled the impact of AI systems on the economy, companies, and people. Previously, Seth worked at a consultancy building applied AI technology prototypes for government clients.  

Geoff Chatterton performed his undergraduate thesis work in the MIT Media Lab’s Epistemology and Learning Group and graduated MIT with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. After serving as an officer in the Navy, he moved to Silicon Valley and began a 25 year career in consumer electronic product development.  Geoff was an early employee or founder of multiple successful startups and has held leadership roles at Apple, Dell, and PayPal.  He is currently CTO and co-founder of his fifth startup, Dopple Works, which is applying AI and other technologies to help children connect with people, places, and purposes
