Reams of data were presented to members of Wiscasset’s school consolidation committee. The lead paragraph in the accompanying article by Paula Gibbs read: “Of the 924 students in Wiscasset’s school system, 303, or about one third, are tuition students.” The meeting was to discuss organizing the school system to save money. Renovation work starting for new Wiscasset Shaw’s. Construction trailers have been hauled into the former Ames store parking lot in preparation for the renovation work to convert the facility into a grocery store. Shaw’s spokesperson Teresa Eddington says they are looking for an “early spring” opening but could not be more exact. File photo
