Alleged murderer of man found in Edgecomb preserve has June 17 court date
An Edgecomb man charged with murder will appear in Androscoggin Superior Court at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, according to the court. Luke Krott, 26, of Edgecomb was charged with the murder of William "Nate" Robinson of Austinville, Virginia. Robinson's body was found inside a trash barrel Dec. 3, 2024 at Schmid Preserve in Edgecomb.
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta determined Robinson died of a gunshot wound and ruled the manner of death a homicide. Following an investigation, detectives executed a search warrant on Dec. 12 at 57 Conant Road in Turner. Police reported finding evidence linking Krott to the murder and issued an arrest warrant.
According to the Maine State Police, Krott had been staying with his parents in Edgecomb. After the murder, he was found with assistance from San Diego Police Department’s Fugitive Task Force, the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service on Jan. 6 on a sailboat in a San Diego marina.
Krott is being held in Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn. Court officials report Krott is represented by Augusta attorney Darrick Banda.
