Dear Editor:

The annual Haiti Dinner, which hosted over 125 people on March 1, was a remarkable success. Preliminary figures indicate fundraising records have been equaled or exceeded. Over 50 pledges were registered at the dinner for each of the four main fundraising targets in Gros Morne, northern Haiti: 1. Construction materials to repair earthquake damaged schools; 2. Hot, nutritious school lunches; 3. Elementary school textbooks and uniforms; and, 4. the launch of a family-based chicken raising project.

Members of the Lincoln County Ecumenical Committee for Haiti would like to thank all those who participated in the dinner as well the churches, organizations, businesses and individuals who supported this community effort in so many ways.
