Dear Editor:

We have elected a new majority in the state legislature and a new administration that is disconnected from the people of Maine.

How could they even propose a tax increase of 40 cents per gallon on all fuels? Do they not realize that we are a rural state? Nearly everything we buy is delivered by diesel fueled trucks. We heat our homes with fuel oil. We run our errands with vehicles fueled with gasoline.

What have we done?
