County Republicans meet
The Lincoln County Republican Committee (LCRC) had its monthly meeting on March 22 at the American Legion Hall in Damariscotta. It was well attended and well led by our newly elected officers: Patty Minerich, chair; Liliana Thelander, vice chair; Bill Morrison, secretary; Ron Cohen, treasurer; Jeanette Wheeler, state committee woman; and Joe Felice, state committee man.
Joe Grant was elected to be the Maine GOP Platform Committee member from the LCRC. This position involves drafting and submitting the platform for approval at the biennial convention.
Rep. Ed Polewarczyk (HD 47) gave a brief update on the Maine House of Representatives, including his presentation in committee of a bill to repeal rank choice voting. It will go to the House for a vote.
The minority leader in the Maine House of Representatives, Rep. Billy Bob Faulkingham (HD 12), spoke briefly about the upcoming Special Republican Caucus to nominate a republican to run in a special election for the House District 45, to replace the position vacated by Democrat Clinton Collamore. The towns of HD 45 include Bremen, Friendship, Louds Island, Waldoboro and Washington. All registered Republicans from these towns are urged to attend. This caucus was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 at the Coastal Christian School, 574 North Nobleboro Road, Waldoboro.
