What do you see
Up there surrounding you
Alone in your tree?

Are you the lookout
or are you on break
From everything visible
Asleep or awake?

I saw you checking
For things all around
While I was observing you
Here on the ground.

No big excitement I guess
You would say
Waiting for other crows
To head 'cross the bay.

I'd like to ask you
A question or two
But you will be gone
Before ever I do.
