Diabetes medications discussed at April 9 Support Group
Join LincolnHealth inpatient pharmacist Jennifer Havelin for “Understanding Diabetes Medications” at LincolnHealth’s next Diabetes Support Group. It will take place Tuesday, April 9, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the new Wellness and Rehab Center in the Webster Van Winkle Building on LincolnHealth’s Miles campus in Damariscotta. The program will also be available via Zoom.
Havelin will discuss diabetes medications, their potential side effects and how to reduce them. Her primary focus will be on the new class of medications, GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP receptor agonists, known by brand names like Ozempic and Mounjaro that are being used for blood sugar control and weight loss.
The Diabetes Support Group meetings are free and open to adults living with diabetes and their families. Pre-registration is recommended due to limited seating and the need to provide a Zoom link prior to the meeting to those who cannot be there in person.
You can pre-register by calling 563-4442.
