A May 6 dispositional hearing is set for the Boothbay man charged in regard to a Feb. 8 motor vehicle accident on Route 27 in Edgecomb. Alexander Nielsen, 33, was charged with operating under the influence after his vehicle collided with another. Later, more charges were approved by the court: aggravated assault, Class B; aggravated OUI, Class C; reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, Class C; and driving to endanger, Class C.

The preliminary investigation indicates speed and impairment were factors in this crash. Nielsen’s first court appearance was March 28.
