'Evening at the Farm' auction event
The Morris Farm will kick off its Evening at the Farm auction with silent bidding open to the public for free on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Anyone can stop by the barn to review the silent auction items, leave a bid, and say hello to the animals.
“There’s a fantastic variety of interesting items,” said Deborah Poor, head of the auction committee.
“Some are big, some are small we’ve got everything from local foods to wonderful gift certificates to antiques to hand-made, high-quality crafts. There really is something for everyone.”
Members of the 4-H Club will be on hand to lead tours of the farm and their projects at 4:30 p.m. Come talk with these impressive young farmers about their work.
The silent auction will continue into the evening at the farm autumn auction event, which begins at 5 p.m. and includes food and beverages. Tickets are $15 each. You can buy them at the door or call the farm at 882-4080 to reserve your spot. The live auction, including a week in France, antiques and works of art, begins at 7 p.m.
The auction will feature a donated holiday at a lovely studio apartment in Bonnieux, France. Paul and Sharon Mrozinski of the Marston House on Main Street in Wiscasset have generously donated this trip. You can win a vacation and with your bid help the Morris Farm Trust carry out its mission at the same time. Tickets are $30 per person, $40 per couple for live auction.
