Friends of WJD seek public input
The Friends of Windjammer Days are honoring Boat Builders of the Boothbay Region as the special focus group for the 62nd Festival slated for Sunday, June 23 through Saturday, June 29.
WJD Friends Stephanie Branch and Liz Sutton Bagonzi are writing most of the articles about the Region’s boat builders - some are writing their own stories. You may have already read the pieces on Skip Orne and Bill Haggett in the Boothbay Register/Wiscasset Newspaper, on the official festival website: www.boothbayharborwindjammerdays.org and the Friends of WJD Facebook page.
An In Memoriam listing is planned as well. If you see someone missing from the list, below, send the name(s) to markgimbel.mg@gmail.com or windjammerdays@gmail.com.
Boat builders currently included on this list: David Short, Gus Schopper, Neil Jones, Freeman Dodge, Ken Rice, Ted Rice, Burty Hutchins, Duane Hutchins, Weston Alley, Bully Luke, Ken Pinkham, Bradford Pinkham, Earl Dodge, Billy Latter, Tim Sherman, Arthur Blake, Donald Barter, Nelson Watts, Jim Stevens, Joel Stevens, Ervin Jones, Paul E. Luke, Sonny Hodgdon, Frank Sample, Chet Rittall, Peter Libbey, Peter Horne, Marshall St Cyr, Joe Jackimovicz and Roy Blaney.
