Friends of WPL to hold bake and book sales July 18
On Thursday, July 18, the “Salty Dogs” will be performing on Wiscasset Common from 6 to 8 p.m. They will be performing their usual mix of oldies which always gets the audience singing and dancing.
The Friends of the Wiscasset Public Library will be holding a bake sale special event on the grounds of the Library that evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. Look for us outside the Used Book Room. The band performs oldies and we have decided to open the Used Book Room that evening. Bring your own bag and fill it with our “oldies” for only $5. You might even find a treasure!
The members will be selling an assortment of cookies, brownies and other treats ready for consumption during the concert. Lemonade will be provided for all attendees. Bradley, the Havanese, will be on-site for any children who would like a photo with him. Many children met him during the annual Christmas sale, and he is looking forward to meeting old friends. He will have coloring pages for the children as well, so please bring your crayons.
The much-anticipated Bands for Books will once again be held on Labor Day at Lakehurst Lodge in Damariscotta and tickets will be available during this sale. Tickets are $20 pre-buy or $25 at the door.
Wiscasset Public Library is at 21 High St. The main library will not be open during the concert. However, look for the Friends of the Library on the grass across from the Common. We are looking forward to seeing you at the concert!
