Illustrated journaling: A different kind of watercolor workshop
“Illustrated journaling: A different kind of watercolor workshop” is one of the many classes River Arts is offering this summer. Led by Hannah Ineson, two sessions will be offered: July 15-16 and Aug. 12-13. The classes will run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the fee is $180.
What is an “illustrated journal”? It’s a small book of watercolor paper in which you record images and text around any theme. Traditionally used to record memories while traveling, your journal can also record family memories, images of your hometown, favorite recipes, visits to restaurants, any theme that gets you into action. We’ll provide recommendations on materials that fit in a small bag or purse.
This is a great class for beginners as well as accomplished painters. Students will learn some easy decorative lettering, drawing and watercolor techniques and composition. Students can purchase a materials package for an additional fee of $50 that includes the watercolor journal, the field paint box and brush and a drawing pen. Students can also buy individual items needed for the workshop, or bring their own.
