LincolnHealth reports 83 cases for week of Sept. 13-19
LincolnHealth reported record-setting COVID-19 numbers for the week of Sept. 13 with 83 positive cases from 883 tests. Nearly half of the cases were of those under 18 and about a third of all cases were considered breakthrough or those who are fully vaccinated. The data also represents LincolnHealth’s highest weekly positivity rate yet for the pandemic, at 9.4%.
Director of Communications John Martins said breakthrough cases have resulted in milder symptoms and less severe illness overall. “We also want to remind people that it’s flu vaccine time again, and that vaccine is recommended for those age 6 months or older.”
Martins said the Respiratory Care Clinic started the week of Sept. 20 with over 500 calls and nearly 190 tests. Hospital staff have been encouraging those who have not yet been vaccinated to do so.
