Linekin Bay Resort finishes off-season renovation, open house July 7
Linekin Bay Resort in Boothbay Harbor went through a transformative renovation and expansion during the 2023/2024 off-season. Known for its classic coastal charm and breathtaking views of Linekin Bay, they embarked on the largest capital investment project to date. Their ultimate goal is always to enhance the guest experience on every level. Modern amenities seamlessly blend with the resort’s classic coastal Maine vibe, ensuring a balance between comfort and nature.
The Branch family opened Linekin Bay Camp in 1919, and later transformed it into a 20-acre family resort expanding the accommodations into lodges and cabins in 1946. Scott Larson, who owns Newagen Seaside Inn in Southport, and Steve Malcom, of the Knickerbocker Group in Boothbay, launched their first renovation project soon after taking over ownership from the Branch family in 2015. With the end of the 2023 season, and addition of new partners to the group, Star Mesa Properties, who own Robinson’s Wharf on Southport, the team decided to undergo the ninth property renovation and capital investment across the 20-acre property.
“We no longer have any “rustic” accommodations, no one room is better than the other. We are so excited to showcase what we accomplished and we look forward to continue investing in LBR.” Star Mesa Properties’ Kellie Reiland says.
Linekin Bay Resort opened for the 2024 season in May with seven fully renovated one-bedroom cabins and four two-bedroom cabins, previously called the “rustic cabins.” They have been renamed the resort’s “classic cabins,” and continue to accommodate groups and families and provide pet-friendly options for guests traveling with their four-legged friends.
Additionally, the West Lodge renovation is wrapping up with three new waterfront guest rooms on the second floor, updated indoor seating at the Deck Bar & Grill, and a new multi-purpose deck with Adirondack chairs surrounding firepits, outdoor table games and a tent for shelter from the weather. West Lodge will continue to provide a space for guests to connect, dine at the Deck Bar & Grill, relax in front of the stone fireplace, and play games or kick back on the deck.
An emphasis has always been put on the resort’s outdoor recreation and waterfront. Linekin Bay Resort has a fleet of sailboats, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and rowboats, fishing equipment, heated pool, and land activities like volleyball, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. The 2024 fall season brings a new fitness center and sauna.
Linekin Bay Resort is hosting an Open House for guests and locals to visit the property, tour the newly renovated cabins and West Lodge renovations, as well as enjoy live music and 20% off at the Deck Bar & Grill on July 7 from 4 to 8 p.m.
