Lobster stew
Wow, what a beautiful stretch of weather. We kind of went from winter to summer, LOL. I’m hoping everyone was able to enjoy a little of these past few days outside. Lots of good things happening on our fine peninsula, Windjammer Days are coming up soon, fireworks, lots of people in town ... life is good. I’m on a vacation from my day job and I’m really enjoying some down time.
Lobster stew is featured this week. I’m glad to see the price of lobsters is coming down a little.
Still no sign of any shedders and I was tired and not willing to pick the hard shell, so I cheated and bought a pound at Pinkham’s. I know where it’s fresh and delicious.
I pulled out a big sauté pan and melted my one stick of real butter, cut up my pound of lobster meat and sautéd for a few minutes, then added a dash of paprika, two or three tablespoons of dry sherry, two cans of evaporated milk, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Easy, fast and so good. We always do a nice green salad, oyster crackers or the old standby, saltines.
Very sad to say soccer with the little ones is over. I will miss the kids and their awesome parents. I want to thank everyone for the ongoing support. We will see you all in the fall.
It’s a busy time of year for everyone. Please be patient with the slow cars and people in the streets. I have to remind myself they aren’t sure where they are or going.
Keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine the rest of the week. Summer is on. Enjoy and take it all in. I want to thank our teachers and all of our graduates. Be safe and fly, class of 2019.
