Mid-Coast Audubon lobster bake fundraiser in Bremen Aug. 31
Mid-Coast Audubon is hosting its annual lobster bake fundraiser at Hog Island Audubon camp in Bremen on Saturday, Aug. 31. Members of the Mid-Coast Audubon Board will display their cooking talents and be available to answer bird questions. An $85 donation covers boat transportation, a meal of a lobster, potato, and corn on the cob all baked over an open fire on the beach, plus clams, baked onion, lemonade, coffee and a special dessert, and the opportunity to explore the island before or after eating.
Tickets are available to purchase online at the Mid-Coast Audubon website, https://midcoast.maineaudubon.org/event/lobster-bake/. Only 90 tickets will be sold.
The boat will depart the Audubon dock, at the end of Keene Neck Road in Bremen, at 10 a.m. (for those who wish to hike the island) and at 1 p.m. Birdwatch, take a hike, swim, watch our Board members build the fire and construct the lobster bake on the beach, or just beachcomb around the island until 2 p.m. when the lobsters will be served. The boats will ferry guests back starting at 3:30 p.m.
“Bring your friends and family for an unforgettable day on a Maine coastal island with a traditional lobster bake,” said Board President, Jeff Cherry. “And be sure to stay for the cream puffin parade!”
