New winter classes at Art Foundation
Starting January 23, Virginia Forrest is instructing a Basic Watercolor Class on Wednesday mornings, from 9 to noon. She will lead students through the gradual steps of creating a small painting. Participants will be asked to bring painting supplies and an 8x10-inch frame. The cost is $10/session, pay as you go, for the four-week course. For more information, please call Virginia at 882-7164 or leave a message at BRAF (207-633-2703).
“Introduction to Drawing I” is a class designed for beginning artists. The ability to draw accurately is one of the most important skills for the new artist. Students will experience a variety of drawing exercises to help them train the eye to see more accurately and record those visual observations. If you are interested in painting, a drawing foundation is important.
John G. Butke has over 30 years of experience in art education, having taught art in college, high school and elementary school.
Butke’s class will be held Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 4 starting on January 23. The cost is $10 per class for four consecutive Wednesday afternoons. Please call John at 207-633-6442 to sign up now and to get a basic list of materials needed for this class. All classes are held at 1 Townsend Ave., upstairs.
The gallery is in the process of planning 4-week classes and half-day demonstrations at reasonable prices. Classes being considered at this time are photography, drawing & perspective, oil painting, landscape painting, collage, fiber art, memory boxes, and folk art
